New footage for The Mandalorian season 3 has revealed that Din Djrarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu will be headed for the Mandalorian homeworld. Throughout the Star Wars timeline, the planet of Mandalore has almost always been in turmoil and conflict due to the warrior culture of its people. Although the world currently is said to be in ruins thanks to the Empire, it's been teased that the Mandalorian will be making a pilgrimage along with his adopted child, seeking to right past wrongs.
In Mandalorian season 2, Din Djarin had no choice but to remove his helmet to save the child Grogu. As such, he knowingly violated the sacred Way of his clan by showing his face to others. Upon his confession to his clan's Armorer that he broke the creed as seen in The Book of Boba Fett, Djarin was excommunicated and became an apostate. While he may wield Star Wars' black-bladed Darksaber, which symbolizes his right to rule, Djarin no longer has a clan. However, he was told of a path that would lead toward his redemption by the Armorer herself.

As revealed by the Armorer in The Book of Boba Fett, Din Djarin must travel to Mandalore and bathe in the sacred living pools residing in the planet's beskar mines. Until he visits his people's homeworld and completes the ritual, Din Djarin is no longer a Mandalorian, a way of life and clan Djarin has been devoted to his entire life. As such, it makes sense that the Star Wars Celebration's footage description for The Mandalorian season 3 teaser features Djarin's decision to go to Mandalore to be "forgiven for his transgressions."
