Fargo Season 5 Casts Jon Hamm
Jon Hamm has been cast in FX's Fargo season 5. Hamm is an Emmy winner for his best-known performance as advertising executive Don Draper, who he played across seven seasons of Mad Men. He has since alternated between film and television and between comedy and drama, with roles in The Town, Baby Driver, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Hamm is now coming off the box-office smash Top Gun: Maverick, starring alongside Tom Cruise, where Hamm plays Vice Admiral Beau «Cyclone» Simpson, the commander of the Naval Air Forces.
Now per TVLine, Hamm's next role will be in the upcoming Fargo season 5, where he will play a character named Roy. He previously worked with Fargo creator Noah Hawley in Legion season 2, where he served as a narrator. This season will go back to its modern timetable, taking place in 2019, with the cast also including Emmy-nominee Juno Temple, who also stars in Ted Lasso and The Offer, as Dot, and Oscar-nominee Jennifer Jason Leigh as Lorraine. The logline reads, "When is a kidnapping not a kidnapping, and what if your wife isn’t yours?"

The Emmy-winning anthology series, based on the 1996 Coen brothers movie Fargo, has received acclaim for its first four seasons and attracted various stars, including Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, Kirsten Dunst, Patrick Wilson, Ewan McGregor, Chris Rock, and Jessie Buckley. Very little is known about the upcoming season, but time will tell what the storyline will be, and the announced cast is certainly promising. Hamm is no stranger to juggling humorous and dramatic moments, which makes him a perfect fit for Fargo.
