There's a growing call for Chris Pratt to be recast as the MCU's Star-Lord and there are a couple of factors that lead to this petition. As part of the original Guardians of the Galaxy line-up, the actor has been playing Peter Quill/Star-Lord since 2014. But as Pratt gears up to reprise his role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, a social media petition has been gaining traction that asks Marvel Studios to get rid of him and recast the role of Peter Quill.
Pratt debuted Star-Lord in 2014 via James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy. Before scoring his big Marvel Studios gig, however, Pratt was best known as the lovable Andy in the hit sitcom Parks and Recreation. Because of the MCU's popularity, his role as a member of the franchise's premier cosmic team catapulted him into mainstream popularity and allowed him to establish himself as one of the big movie stars of his generation. After joining the MCU, Pratt has also starred in several other big blockbusters, most notably spearheading the Jurassic World series.

Within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Chris Pratt has appeared three more times since his introduction in the original Guardians of the Galaxy film. He returned with his rag-tag of cosmic heroes in 2017's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, 2018's Avengers: Infinity War, and 2019's Avengers: Endgame. After the Infinity Saga, he has a couple of more confirmed appearances starting with 2022's Thor: Love and Thunder and 2023's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. But, if supporters of the recasting push get their way, Chris Pratt might be removed from the MCU before Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3.
