Writer/director James Gunn reveals who was behind the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3's Rick and Morty set prank of hiding show figures. The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe threequel potentially marks Gunn's final outing in the franchise after initially being let go from the film over the resurfacing of controversial tweets by conservative news outlets. Following Gunn's hiring by Warner Bros. for the DC Extended Universe's The Suicide Squad and subsequently Peacemaker, Disney would reverse their decision and bring him back for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Plot details for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 are currently unknown, though the film will see the returns of its main cast Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff and Sylvester Stallone. The film will also marks the MCU debuts of Will Poulter as Adam Warlock and Peacemaker's Chukwudi Iwuji in an undisclosed role described as a powerful and important character. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 began filming in November 2021 and with wrap right around the corner, Gunn is sharing one tease from the set.
