20th Century Studios unveils the official first Avatar: The Way of Water poster and images highlighting new and returning characters for James Cameron's sequel. Picking up over a decade after the first film, the story revolves around Jake Sully, now the avatar leader of the Na'vi Omaticaya clan, as he and his family continue exploring the alien world of Pandora. Jake, Neytiri, their children and fellow clan members will find themselves confronted with a new danger threatening their home and peaceful lives.
Sam Worthington returns to lead the cast of Avatar: The Way of Water as Jake alongside Zoe Saldaña as Neytiri, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement and Kate Winslet. James Cameron is also back at the helm for the first of his four planned Avatar sequels, producing and directing on a script he co-wrote with War of the Worlds writer Josh Friedman. Following multiple release delays, Avatar: The Way of Water is gearing up to hit theaters this December and audiences are getting an exciting new look at the long-awaited sequel.
