Writer-director James Gunn has announced that filming on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is complete. Posting on Twitter, Gunn confirmed that filming is finished following more than 100 days of shooting, and the production included more than 3,000 shots.
Gunn shared an image of the final film slate from the last day of shooting. It was an emotional day, he teased, saying it «took everything in me not to break down sobbing on the spot.»

Gunn also shared an image of himself with series stars Seann Gunn, Pom Klementieff, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, and Dave Bautista. «I love this amazing cast and crew and their beautiful talent and kind souls,» he said. «I'm a lucky human to have them on the journey with me for nearly a decade.»
Fans may notice that Zoe Saldana is missing from the photo. Gunn said he did not post a picture of her because the only photo he had of her includes an «unannounced actor» that will presumably appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper, who voice Groot and Rocket, respectively, did not appear in any of Gunn's celebratory images because they have never been to set.
Gunn also said Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 represents the end of the trilogy that began with the 2014 film.
