has announced the first and second rounds of characters coming in its season pass. Although it already includes 181 characters from across the continuity,there are also a few characters still missing from . Most of these appeared in previous releases, or played prominent roles in the anime, but have yet to be transferred over into the most recent game.
Many of these will be added in periodic DLC releases over the coming months. This is pretty standard fare for fighting games, which typically release new characters on a rolling basis to keep the game interesting and player counts high. For anyone who's already purchased, or is considering picking up, the season pass, here's what to expect.
The second DLC update for will incldue two new characters: Glorio and Vegeta (mini), as they appear in the series. They join fellow cast member Goku (Mini), who was released as a pre-order bonus for. In this spinoff series, created in close collaboration with late franchise creator Akira Toriyama, Gomah uses the Dragon Balls to turn Goku and his allies into children (hence Vegeta's mini form here), hoping to prevent them from becoming a threat to the Demon World. Glorio also plays a major role in the anime, as a demon set apart from Gomah's machinations. represents his debut; he's completely original to the anime.
This follows the addition of Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 from , who will be contained in the first DLC pack. Characters for the third and final part of the season pass also look to be drawn from, as the series logo appears in the "" slot for the third DLC. Each DLC pack is also said to come with "" than the two characters that have already been revealed for each, but this likely means new stages or alternate costumes instead of additional characters.
