Today's livestream revealed a great deal about its upcoming 5.2 update, slated for release later this month. This is the second major update since the debut of 5.0, which took players to the new region of Natlan for the first time. As per usual, the latest update includes a handful of new characters for players to pull for, new events to participate in, and a new chapter of 's story, which last left the Traveler seeking an Ancient Name.
The latest livestream confirmed many previous leaks, while also introducing tons of new information previously unrevealed. Here's everything the hour-long presentation covered, and what it means for 's future.
5.2 will be released on November 20, 2024, across all platforms where the game is available. This marks a continuation of its rather consistent six-week update pattern; the November 20 release comes exactly six weeks after the launch of version 5.1 on October 9.
A new Genshin Impact 5.2 leak has emerged, showing what will be an increase to the DMG Bonuses cap that characters can reach when fighting.
Updates typically come online after a brief period of server downtime, so players can expect to access version 5.2 at roughly 11 PM EST on November 20. (That's 8 PM PST, 10 PM CT, or 4 AM the following morning BST.) It's no coincidence that this also happens to be the release date of 's Xbox port. The double whammy of a major update and new platform are likely to boost player counts, both by bringing in newcomers and enticing long-timers to return.
's two new characters in 5.2 were already announced, but have been confirmed by the latest livestream. The new characters are Chasca, a five-star Anemo character, and Ororon, a four-star Electro. Chasca is a peacekeeper of the Flower-Feather clan, and wields a bow in battle. A castaway child raised by Qucusaurs, her innate survival skills are unmatched. She's a sworn protector of Natlan and a skilled negotiator.
Chasca is also a powerful DPS, able to summon an oversize shotgun and use it
