Jim Carrey's Dr. Robotnik returns in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, but what happens to him in the post-credits is rather ambiguous. Robotnik's role in the sequel sees the mad scientist partner up with Knuckles the Echidna (voiced by Idris Elba) to get revenge on Sonic, obtain the Master Emerald, and take control of the universe. The man behind the villain, iconic comedian Jim Carrey, has publicly discussed retirement following the film's release, raising questions about Robotnik's future in any potential follow-ups.
