The PlayStation 5 Pro could be out before anyone expected. PS5 Pro rumors have existed around the as-yet-unannounced console since the initial release of the PS5 in 2020. It's been a common strategy for Sony since the PS2 generation: come out with a console, and then, halfway through its shelf life, come out with a bigger, better, more powerful version and make everyone buy it all over again. However, as the base PS5 enters the "" of its life, the expected time frame for a PS5 Pro release is fast approaching.
Colin Moriarty, owner of Last Stand Media and co-host of its PlayStation podcast, cites sources who say Sony is targeting a late 2024 release for the PS5 Pro. So, while four years after launch is a little later than usual, the PS5 Pro has a good excuse in its now-infamous manufacturing issues and slow sales. As always, new consoles tend to be released near the end of the year to coincide with the holiday gifting season, so if these rumors are true, it'd be safe to expect the PS5 Pro's release in November 2024.
But if the PS5 Pro is due out soon, why haven't consumers heard anything about it? Individual games tend to be announced
