Warner Bros. Games has announced a closed alpha for MultiVersus, its upcoming free-to-play fighting game.
Beginning on May 19 and running until May 27, the closed alpha is an invite-only test that will allow players to experience various modes of the game, including a 2vs2 team-based game mode.
The closed alpha is coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, and PC with full cross-play support and dedicated server-based rollback netcode for “robust online competition, according to the publisher.

It’s unclear how many characters the closed alpha will feature, Warner Bros. has confirmed that Batman, Shaggy from the Scooby-Doo franchise, Bugs Bunny and Arya Stark from Game of Thrones will be part of the test.
A new video featuring developers of the game taking on fighting game community veterans Tyrell “NAKAT” Coleman and James “VoiD” Makekau-Tyson was also released, giving players the first look at the new Scooby’s Haunted Mansion stage.
Warner also announced that it plans to hold a MultiVersus 2 vs 2 tournament at the Evolution Championship Series 2022 (EVO).
Following several leaks, MultiVersus was officially announced in November 2021.
Characters confirmed so far include Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Shaggy, Bugs Bunny, Arya Stark, Tom and Jerry, Jake the Dog, Finn the Human, Steven Universe, Garnet, and Reindog (an original fighter).
They reportedly uncovered nearly two hours of voice lines heavily implying that The Tazmanian Devil, Marvin the Martian, LeBron James, Raven (DC Comics/Teen Titans) and The Iron Giant will appear
