Hunter: The Reckoning 5th Edition is the latest in the World of Darkness series, which has spanned numerous games across multiple decades. For those unfamiliar, Hunters are quite literally monster hunters that not only must fight a range of foes like shapeshifters and ghouls but also have to contend with a number of orgs (organizations) that exist with varying motives. With sci-fi noir elements mixed with Gothic-punk horror, the 5th Edition of Hunter: The Reckoning has a lot to offer fans of the series — and provides interesting gameplay mechanics and storytelling that should reel in newcomers, too.
Players are the Hunters, and they can customize characters through Creeds, Drives, and more. Players can be a Club Promotor or an Adjunct Professor — a Smuggler or a Mole. Firearms, Driving, and Larceny all offer some more unique gameplay aspects for characters in Hunter: The Reckoning, and also help set it apart from the many high fantasy TTRPGs out there.
