Warhammer 40K: Death Korps of Krieg Army Box Review - Fan-Favorite Regiment Gets Major Additions
's iconic Death Korps of Krieg gets some big upgrades in a new army box, although the jumbo-sized product is meant to help grow an existing army rather than start a new one. The new Army Box contains several fantastic centerpieces for an Astra Militarium army and, more importantly, expands the availability of the iconic Death Korps.
Still, this might not be the best choice for total newcomers to, as some miniatures are surprisingly fiddly to build and there are better entry points for the Astra Militarium faction. However, if you're aveteran, this box is a great addition to grow an existing army.
The Death Korps is one of several iconic factions within that feels a tad underrepresented compared to their popularity. Outside of a unit, the gas-mask-wearing troops had few non-resin options even though they're part of a faction typically known for needing a large number of minis. Games Workshop worked to rectify this with a new line of Death Korps units, including mounted cavalry, a massive artillery gun, and a brand-new hero. Whilethe line isn't enough to create an army built entirely of Death Korps units, it expands their selection significantly for the first time in years.

The Death Korps hail from a toxic world and are known for wearing gear specifically meant to help them survive the most inhabitable of conditions. This includes special gas masks, helmets, and trenchcoats reminiscent of World War I German soldiers. Within the lore of, the Death Korps are known for their penchant for taking on the most deadly missions and completing them, no matter the cost.
