Visions of Mana, a new entry in the long-running action role-playing game by Square Enix, is coming next year on PC and consoles.
Announced with a new trailer shown during this year's The Game Awards show, the game is the first new installment in the series in more than 15 years, returning the franchise to its action RPG roots. Controlling the newly appointed soul guard Val, players will travel to the Tree of Mana to rejuvenate the mana flow while exploring some lush, colorful locations.
While Visions of Mana will be the first entry in the series in over 15 years, the series hasn't been exactly dormant, as Square Enix brought it back to the spotlight with the Secret of Mana and Trials of Mana remakes and the Legend of Mana remaster. The remake of the third main entry in the series was especially good, so hopefully, the new entry in the series will be just as good, if not even better.
Even if you already know the story beats by heart and can recite the optimal path to beat all eight Benevodons by heart, Trials of Mana still feels refreshing enough to be considered a brand new game. If you've already paid off your Nook loans and are itching for a new single player RPG to enjoy at home, Trials of Mana is a modern classic worth considering.
Visions of Mana launches on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Xbox SSeries S sometime next year.
