In less than a week, V Rising 1.0 will finally be out, and developer Stunlock Studios is reminding us of that May 8th launch date with the official launch trailer.
The trailer is pretty short, but it packs in a whole lot of vampire visuals, the potential of a new un-life, and things like hunting, and the way you can grow to dominate the night. Of course, V Rising has its narrative elements, bolstered after the addition ofthe Secrets of Gloomrot expansion, but there’s a whole lot of survival game there too. You get to build your castle, even to multiple impressive floors, guard it, and decorate it. Learn to continue growing power and expand your potential vampiric dominance.
Since it is a short trailer, there are a lot of short glimpses at the game, but overall, it’s an effective tease for the full launch on May 8th (PlayStation 5 is coming later in the year).
V Rising had rapid and lasting success in Early Access, and the 1.0 launch is going to bring a ton of new features, improvements, and the announced Castlevania collaboration. Yet, with a 1.0 launch, there’s the potential to draw in even more aspiring vampires.
There are dynamic endgame events, and a new endgame zone the team previewed recently, The Ruins of Mortium. Stunlock released a new devblog on the zone, laying out the lore of how Dracula emerged and became the mighty warlord that changed Vardoran, then seemingly disappeared, defeated. He left the V Blood bosses to challenge, but had plans to return. Challenge his Legion and see how far you can go.
In the 1.0 launch, you'll get to experience a bunch of new features, including new V Blood bosses and that final boss fight with Dracula. The Legacy of Castlevania event also adds Simon Belmont as a new boss you can fight, and adds his whip to collect. There are other new weapons, a new equipment tier, and a number of improvements from magic to castle building, decorations, storage, and a number of optimizations and visual upgrades.
