V Rising is out today on PlayStation 5, giving Stunlock Studios’ hit vampire survival sandbox its first console release.
After a wildly successful Early Access and launch on PC that moved over 4 million copies, V Rising on the PlayStation 5 is a collaboration between Stunlock Studios and Auroch Digital. For the console release, the team had to adapt the controls and menus for the survival action RPG and make things intuitive with the DualSense controller.
Now you can enter the world of Vardoran as a newly awakened vampire, learn to feed and to hide, explore the lands and get to know the terrain and peoples, ultimately building your own castle. You can now use the survival crafting gameplay mechanics to not only create your perfect and stylish castle, with multiple levels, you can decorate it and craft your gear.
All of this is in service of your ambitions, and that means in the final launch, you can go and search out Dracula and even topple him to become the top vampire. Of course, there are many twists and turns and elements will have to consider and survive. But there's a lot of power at stake, and lots of ways to do it in style.
As with the PC launch, the console release also features the Castlevania collaboration and the ability to battle Simon Belmont and also to use his classic whip. There are three options for purchase, depending on how many cosmetic goodies you want. The standard edition is $39.99. For $59.99, you can get the Legacy of Castlevania Edition, which includes the Castlevania premium DLC (which is also available separately for $19.99). Finally, for the completists, there is a $99.99 Complete Edition, which features several additional DLC packs.
