Nacon and Big Ant Studios have decided to renamed Rugby 24, branding it now as Rugby 25 as it enters into Steam Early Access for PC today. The fully game will make its way to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One and PC later this year.
Why the change? Well, the simple fact of the matter is that, where the game was originally set to release in the 2023-24 season window, delays have meant the focus for all the future licensed content will be on the 2024-25 season so, as is the case for all sports games, it’s to be named for the season ahead.
Launching into Steam Early Access, the game will be a preview of the game’s mechanics, with the aim to work with the player base to refine the rugby game experience as much as possible, before the full launch later this year
Rugby 25 Early Access will have 21 nations, including the Australian and French teams, with complete photogrammetry to capture their likenesses. Future updates will add other major nations, including New Zealand, South Africa and England, and there will be than 150 club teams from 11 competitions, such as the URC, the English Premiership, France’s Top 14, MLR and Super Rugby.
