Ubisoft Confirms It Will Be At E3 2023 "If It Happens"

Ubisoft has confirmed during its Q3 earnings conference call that it'll be making an appearance at E3 2023 "if it happens" and that it'll have "lots to show", presumably meaning new looks at games like Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Assassin's Creed Mirage, and more.

Last year, the ESA confirmed that E3 would return to Los Angeles in 2023 and be an in-person event for the first time in years, which got everyone excited at the possibility of the event coming back for good. Recently, several big companies have revealed that they don't plan on attending E3, leaving it looking a little empty compared to other years.

As reported by VGC, Ubisoft has confirmed that it does have plans to attend E3 2023 and apparently has "lots to show", but only if the event actually happens. Speaking during a Q3 earnings conference call earlier today, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed to listeners that the company was intending to arrive, although it's not clear why he said "if it happens", as the ESA has confirmed that E3 is planned this year.

Although it's not entirely clear, Guillemot could be referring to the fact that several big-name companies have confirmed that they won't be at E3 2023 this year, seemingly so that they can put on their own showcases. Last month, it was reported that Nintendo, Sony, and Xbox won't be attending the show, with Nintendo reportedly not having enough upcoming games later this year to show off.

Meanwhile, Xbox has confirmed that it has plans to hold its own Summer showcase in L.A. this year, but one that doesn't seem to be associated with E3. Last year, Microsoft held its own conference alongside Bethesda, so it seems likely that
