Twitter is currently down globally for most of its users, with no current known reason.
Around 5pm GMT, Twitter users started reporting that the app and web page were crashing for them, not showing recent Tweets, and freezing when accessed. Later into the hour, more users reported being unable to get into the app at all or being logged out from it altogether.

Checking downdetector shows that reports of Twitter being down started just before 5pm, before ramping up massively over the hour. What started as 60 reports quickly turned into over 11 thousand.
It's not clear what is causing Twitter to go down at the moment as no statement has been released. As of the time of writing, users are still unable to log into the service.
