After the original series broke the barriers of what fans believed was possible in a Transformers saga, the twisted alternate reality of Transformers: Shattered Glass is back with an all-new sequel series from IDW Publishing.
As established in the previous series, the world of Transformers: Shattered Glass is one where the heroic Autobots fans know and love are evil while the treacherous Decepticons are the heroes. In this world, Optimus Prime is a ruthless tyrant who is hellbent on bending the world to his will. Meanwhile, Megatron is a peacekeeper who is working to stop the villainous Prime by any means necessary.

A press release from IDW Publishing announced that the five-issue miniseries Transformers: Shattered Glass II will be helmed by the creative team of the original series including Danny Lore as writer with Daniel Khanna and Guido Guidi returning as series artists along with colorist John-Paul Brove. This new Transformers series will also feature a new addition to the creative team with artist Marcelo Matere. The first issue of Transformers: Shattered Glass II will feature three variant covers with the first being illustrated by interior artist Marcelo Matere, the second by artist Red Powell, and the third retailer incentive edition done by Nick Brokenshire. The official marketplace for Hasbro brands, Hasbro Pulse, also announced it will release exclusive variant covers for each issue of the series.
