Scream star Neve Campbell will play a recurring character in the Twisted Metal TV series coming to Peacock.
Deadline reports that Campbell, who has appeared in all five Scream movies and is also known for her roles in The Craft, Wild Things and Party of Five, will play Raven in the PlayStation Productions show.
Raven, who first appeared in Twisted Metal Black (the fifth game in the series), is a gothic character who hates conforming and drives a hearse named Shadow.
Campbell is the latest in a line of actors who have been confirmed for the show, including Anthony Mackie (Falcon in the marvel Cinematic Universe), Thomas Haden Church (Sandman in Spider-Man 3) and Stephanie Beatriz (Rosa Diaz in Brooklyn Nine-Nine).
The show, which is written an executive produced by Michael Jonathan Smith (Cobra Kai), stars Mackie as John Doe, an amnesiac who “talks as fast as he drives”, according to a statement by Peacock.
Doe has to drive across a post-apocalyptic wasteland to deliver supplies to an outpost and will be aided by car thief Quiet (Beatriz), while being pursed by patrolman Agent Stone (Church).
Peacock announced in February that it had picked up the PlayStation Productions show and given it a series order.
Twisted Metal is the second TV series from PlayStation Productions, a studio formed by Sony Interactive Entertainment to adapt its original game properties for film and TV.
The first TV series is HBO’s The Last of Us, which will star Game of Thrones actors Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as Joel and Ellie.
A Twisted Metal reboot is currently in development at Sony’s Firesprite studio, according to VGC sources. The reboot was initially in development at Lucid games, but it’s unclear why Sony decided to change course with the project.
