Sony has just confirmed who will play the villain in the coming live-action Twisted Metal adaptation. Thomas Haden Church will play Agent Stone, who will star alongside Anthony Mackie as John Doe and Stephanie Beatriz as the car thief Quiet.
Agen Stone is described as "a cold and unyielding post-apocalyptic highway patrolman who rules the roads with a silver tongue and a twisted iron fist, prosecuting even the smallest crimes with the harshest of judgments. Agent Stone will stop at nothing to bring law and order back to the Divided States of America, and will kill anyone in his path who defies his power."

With Haden Church joining the cast, Twisted Metal now has three confirmed characters. Altered Carbon and The Falcon And The Winter Soldier actor Anthony Mackie was first confirmed for Twisted Metal as John Doe, an amnesiac milkman "who talks as fast as he drives." With no memory of his past, Doe’s motive in the Twisted Metal competition is to learn his own history while delivering a package through a wasteland full of rampaging marauders. Stephanie Beatriz was confirmed last week in the role of Quiet, a deceptive and ferocious car thief.
Twisted Metal is tentatively scheduled to begin airing on NBC’s Peacock streaming service next year. The show is being executive produced by Will Arnett, who is rumored to play the deadly clown Sweet Tooth. Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick offer their services for the script while Cobra Kai's Michael Jonathan Smith helms the adaptation. Each episode of the action comedy series will last 30 minutes.
