Will Arnett just got cast as Sweet Tooth in Peacock’s series, but he will be sharing the role with someone else. Current Ring of Honor television champion and All Elite Wrestling star Samoa Joe will also be playing Sweet Tooth, too, providing the body for the fire-headed clown.
The show will be able to get away with a dual performance because of Sweet Tooth’s clown mask that will let both actors play the singular role. Samoa Joe is no stranger to the video game realm, either. He’s been a frequent guest on Xavier Woods’ gaming YouTube channel and is even voicing King Shark in the upcoming .
Samoa Joe’s casting announcement came with the reveal of a slew of guest stars. These guest stars include Richard Cabral (, ), Mike Mitchell (, ), Tahj Vaughans (), and Lou Beatty Jr. (, ). Cabral will play Loud, the “loudmouth protective” brother of Stephanie Beatriz’ Quiet. Mitchell and Vaughans will play Stu and Mike, respectively, both whom are best friends and the “Rosencrantz & Guildenstern of this world.” Beatty will portray Tommy, a grizzled cartographer who knows the dangers of the world.
The show is based on a concept from writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who will executive produce. It will be written by scribe Michael Jonathan Smith, who will also serve as an EP. Other executive producers include PlayStation Studios’ Hermen Hulst, Qizilbash and Carter Swan of PlayStation Productions, Inspire Entertainment’s Jason Spire, Electric Avenue’s Will Arnett and Marc Forman, and Peter Principato of Artists First. ‘s Kitao Sakurai is also set to executive produce and direct a few episodes.
Sony is also allegedly creating another game and it is likely being positioned to come out around the same time as the Peacock series.
