Will Arnett has finally confirmed that he’ll be playing the voice of Sweet Tooth in the upcoming live-action Twisted Metal series. The show was announced last January and will air on NBC’s Peacock streaming platform sometime next year.
Arnett has long been rumored to be voicing Sweet Tooth as he’s also executive producing Twisted Metal. A report from Variety confirmed the BoJack Horseman star will voice the killer clown, who’s described as hilarious, terrifying, and rage-filled despite always smiling. Sweet tooth roams the streets of “Lost Vegas” looking for anyone to bring inside his ice cream truck to perform unspeakably heinous acts.

Sweet Tooth is an important role to get right. As the mascot of the entire Twisted Metal series, Sweet Tooth has been in every game, always depicted the same way and always driving an ice cream truck armed to the teeth. Although the specifics of his story changes depending on the game, he’s always described as a serial killer using the Twisted Metal contest as an excuse to go on yet another murder spree. Sweet Tooth is also typically portrayed as being exceptionally large and imposing, so it seems likely that Arnett will provide the voice while someone else portrays Sweet Tooth on screen.
Arnett joins a star-studded cast that includes Scream's Neve Campbell as the gothic hearse driver Raven, Thomas Haden Church as Agent Stone, Encanto star Stephanie Beatriz as the wild car thief Quiet, and Altered Carbon's Anthony Mackie as amnesiac milkman John Doe. Twisted Metal is being co-written by Deadpool's Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick as well as Michael Jonathan Smith.
