Paramount Pictures has shared four new posters for the upcoming animated prequel to the blockbuster Transformers franchise. The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on September 20, 2024. It will debut in the same month as other high-profile movies like Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Speak No Evil, The Killer’s Game, The Wild Robot, and Megalopolis.
“The film is the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever,” reads the synopsis.
The new Transformers One posters give highlight to the film’s four main characters, including Chris Hemsworth‘s Orion/Optimus Prime, Brian Tyree Henry’s D-16/Megatron, Keegan-Michael Key’s Bumblebee, and Scarlett Johansson’s Elita, as they transform into futuristic vehicles. Additional cast members include Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime, Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion, and Steve Buscemi.
Described as the first-ever fully CG-animated Transformers movie, the prequel is directed by Josh Cooley from a screenplay written by Andrew Barer, Steve Desmond, Gabriel Ferrari, and Michael Sherman. The film is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Zev Foreman, Olivier Dumont, Bradley J. Fischer, B.J. Farmer, and Matt Quigg. Producers are Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Tom DeSanto, Don Murphy, Michael Bay, Mark Vahradian, and Aaron Dem.
