Today, Torchlight: Infinite launches globally on PC and mobile with new features, post-beta updates, and the start of a new season. The game will be available starting at 5 PM PDT.
The free to play dungeon-crawling ARPG is the latest in the Torchlight franchise, reimagined by XD Games for a mobile, and now, cross-platform, release. This follows beta testing and a series of improvements, including to core gameplay to make it more robust and engaging, that followed community feedback. To mark the launch, Torchlight: Infinite’s Consulting Producer, industry and ARPG vet David Brevik, discusses how the game innovates and what makes the experience special.
Some of those improvements include two new crafting methods, a seventh customization talent panel, the addition of guilds, new Trading Post improvements, including easier searching,and more. Prototype Production But you reroll stats on your gear, while you lock in two desired affixes. Targeted Processing replaces the old crafting method, and lets you craft any gear affixes you want with Ember, but the cost to revert changes will be steeper.
The seventh customization talent panel joins the other six, but this one will let you have access to even greater customization options. This panel has a puzzle-like grid that you can fill out by placing items called Divinity Slates. These will take bonuses from the other six talent panels, and you will be able to arrange them on the grid in order to further customize your builds. Divinity Slates are just one of the new items dropping with the launch.
The new season, “Cube of Rapacity” opens with the launch, and adds a new playable hero, Escapist Bing, and a new hero trait for Thea, Incarnation of the Gods. Desire Cores, another new
