What's worse than being trapped in a World War I bunker that's sorely in need of an electrician to help fix the lights? The exact same bunker, only it happens to be inhabited by murderous creatures who are looking to lethally bump you off in the dark. That's just what you'll see in this new extended gameplay trailer for Amnesia: The Bunker--and can't unsee--as the video provides an in-depth look at the game's dynamic and immersive methods for staying alive. Like referencing the creatures in the dark with spicy language.
Developed by Frictional Games, the studio behind cult-classic horror games such as 2010's Amnesia: The Dark Descent and 2015's SOMA, Amnesia: The Bunker takes place in a semi-open world. Frictional Games is aiming to make this latest chapter in the Amnesia series more replayable, and some of the more interesting gameplay mechanics include a crafting system and several randomization elements for each playthrough.
«In embracing this more choice-driven form of progression, the experience of playing The Bunker oftentimes feels a bit more frantic than Amnesia: The Dark Descent or Amnesia: Rebirth--at least in those games, you always knew you were on the right track if you kept moving forward,» Jordan Ramée wrote in GameSpot's Amnesia: The Bunker preview. «Longtime Amnesia fans hoping for a more drastic shift from what's come before in the series will find something fresh in The Bunker.»
Amnesia: The Bunker arrives a week later than originally intended, as it'll now be launching on May 23 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. «This will give us a little more time to polish the game and make sure everything is perfect before launch,» Frictional Games said about the slight delay.
