With the Uncharted film on its way to theaters soon, Tom Holland, who stars in the film as protagonist Nathan Drake, has begun interviews as part of the film’s press cycle, and pokes fun at the numerous video game adaptations that have come and gone, and ones that he would like to take part in. Films based on video games have garnered a reputation for not being that great, with franchises like Assassin’s Creed and Hitman becoming movies that are perceived as less than stellar compared to the series the films are adapting.
While series like Pokémon and Sonic the Hedgehog have seen a successful transition to film, most people have looked to Uncharted to truly break the video game movie curse. The production has gone through a number of iterations over the years, with filmmakers such as David O. Russell, Dan Trachtenberg, and Travis Knight all slated to be working on the film at some point in development. However, with Venom’s Ruben Fleisher in the directors chair and Tom Holland as Nathan Drake alongside Mark Wahlberg as Victor Sullivan, the film is finally on its way for its February release.

While doing his press tour for the film, Tom Holland spoke with ScreenRant about the process of making Uncharted, and the other video games he played while on set. One of the games he played being Playtonic’s Fall Guys, which has plenty of celebrity fans including Holland’s MCU co-star Brie Larson. When ScreenRant joked about a possible Fall Guys movie, Holland remarked “Yeah, me and Chris Pratt.”
