Uncharted director Ruben Fleischer explains how Nolan North's cameo came to be. Voiced by North in the video game series, Tom Holland now stars as the first live-action iteration of Nathan Drake in the new Uncharted movie. Holland is still fresh off one of the biggest box office hits of all time, Spider-Man: No Way Home, which recently passed Avatar to become the third highest-grossing movie domestically. Now, he will look to ride that success into another blockbuster for Sony.
The Uncharted movie is a long-gestating adaptation of the popular video game series developed by Naughty Dog studios for Playstation. The film cycled through various directors during its journey to the big screen, including David O. Russell and Shawn Levy, before finally landing on Fleischer. The Venom director oversaw an ensemble that also includes Mark Wahlberg as Nathan's mentor, Sully, and Antonio Banderas as the main villain, Santiago Moncada. Now that Uncharted is playing in theaters, its cast and crew is finally able to open up about its various video game references and Easter eggs.
