Tokyo Game Show 2023 returns to Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, from September 21st to 24th. The first two days are Business Days, while the remaining two will be open to the public. The event will take up the entire venue for the first time in four years.
Tokyo Game Show VR 2023 also returns and is available for the entirety of the event, while its exhibition is accessible until October 1st. Along with head-mounted displays and PCs, visitors can access it with smartphones. Fans can also expect online programs with “trial versions of indie games and big-name titles” coming to a special Steam site.
Last year’s physical event had 140,000 visitors during all four days, which is noteworthy due to the COVID-19 restrictions in Japan at the time. With that in mind, the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association wants this year’s show to be “the largest-ever hybrid event.” It will have over 2,000 booths, with more than 200,000 visitors expected. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
