One of the most acclaimed and popular indie games on the 3DS has just gotten what may be its biggest discount ever. This sale comes just a few short weeks before the 3DS eShop is set to close its doors.
The 3DS eShop is home to some of the most popular and successful indie games of its time such as VVVVV and SteamWorld Dig as well as a number of games that never came to other consoles like Attack of the Friday Monsters! A Tokyo Tale and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies. Since last year's announcement that the 3DS and Wii U eShops will be closing down toward the end of March 2023, many have since scrambled to buy digital games for these platforms they missed out on or grab hold of free demos, updates, and Virtual Console titles that will soon be lost to time.

The 3DS was also host to Shovel Knight which became one of the biggest indie game success stories thanks to its modern take on NES-era game design. It is currently available on the 3DS eShop for $4.49, an 85% discount from its usual price of $30. Shovel Knight first launched as a singular campaign but was later updated into a bundle titled Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove which included the first game, three downloadable expansions, and the competitive fighting game Shovel Knight Showdown. All of this content will be available for one low price on the 3DS until March 27, the same day the 3DS eShop will close.
