Venus de Milo was one of the more controversial additions to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles canon in 1997, yet there's no denying the creative potential to the female Turtle's character, especially considering how little she's been fleshed out in the past. Now, her recent comic adventures indicate that she's got the most powerful Ninja Turtle weapon.
Venus de Milo has a complicated character history. She was introduced in the short-lived television series Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation as the fifth Turtle. However, she was so divisive amongst creators that Venus was never a fully featured character again until March of 2022. Her original story begins with her separation from the other Turtles and drifting downstream to Chinatown. There she is found by the martial arts master Chung, who takes her to China and raises her as his own while also training her as a shinobi. After Chung's death Venus journeys back to New York, where she encounters the brothers while battling dragons in an effort to save Master Splinter's spirit. Unfortunately, her character was sidelined for nearly 20 years until IDW took the reins and reintroduced her back into canon with the comic series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Since Venus de Milo doesn't have the benefit of years of lore to work with for character development, IDW has an unprecedented amount of freedom with the future of her character. Venus was reintroduced in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #127 by Sophie Campbell and Pablo Tunica.
