One new theory about Thor: Love & Thunder suggests that a new, stronger Groot might be coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After Thor's infamous hammer, Mjolnir, was destroyed by Hela during Thor: Ragnarok, viewers were introduced to his replacement weapon in Avengers: Infinity War: Stormbreaker, a huge battle-ax said to be a "king's weapon" that can harness the power of the Bifrost. While Stormbreaker has been Thor's trusted weapon since Infinity War, one theory suggests that the ax might have a stranger future in the MCU.
Stormbreaker made its debut during Avengers: Infinity War, intended to be used as a weapon against the Mad Titan Thanos. After the Battle of Earth in Avengers: Endgame, Thor keeps the ax as his primary weapon on his journey with the Guardians of the Galaxy and in his battle against Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love & Thunder. Before his fight with Gorr, though, Thor plants Stormbreaker in the ground and resigns himself to a peaceful life away from being a superhero. Obviously it isn't long until Thor, God of Thunder, digs up the ax and heads back into battle, revealing that roots had begun to grow on the bottom of the ax's handle. This is a little call-back to Stormbreaker's creation, during which Groot uses his own arm to form the handle. This also poses a question about the ax's potential.

Guardians of the Galaxy revealed that even just one twig from Groot's body has the potential to grow an entirely new (and adorable) Groot.
