As reported by ComicBook, during the latest episode of FatMan Beyond, Smith and co-host Bernardin discussed Waitit's Phase 4 Thor adventure, where Smith shared his reaction to the film. When discussing his film, the director compared Love and Thunder to Thor: Ragnarok, praising the latter as a film that defied any expectations he had. As such, Smith stated he felt Love and Thunder lacked the same element of surprise Ragnarok brought due to his experience with the prior film. Despite his criticisms, Smith stated he enjoyed the film, though he did find issues with the Guardians of the Galaxy's brief role, as well as the main plot.
