Lady Sif actress Jaimie Alexander shares new behind-the-scenes images from Thor: Love and Thunder. After first appearing in Thor, Thor: The Dark World, and two episodes of Agents of SHIELD, Alexander’s Asgardian was absent from Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, and Endgame. In reality, Alexander was busy filming NBC’s crime drama Blindspot, but in-universe, Sif was likely banished by Loki following The Dark World and a victim of Thanos’ snap in Infinity War. Regardless, Sif wasn’t seen again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe until Loki season 1, episode 4, which allowed Alexander to reprise her role in one of the titular character’s memories.
After a seven-year absence from the big screen, Sif finally returned in Taika Waititi’s highly anticipated sequel, Love and Thunder. Near the beginning of the film, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) receives a distress call from Sif, who tracked down Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) after he murdered the colossal god Falligar. Her arm having been cut off by Gorr’s Necrosword, Sif is rescued by Thor and Korg, brought back to New Asgard, and not seen again until the end of the film.
