Warning! Spoilers for Thor #23 by Marvel Comics
The final fight between Thor and the God of Hammers has occurred, as the God of Thunder makes his greatest sacrifice ever to stop the living embodiment of Mjolnir. In Thor #23, the All-Father uses all of his strength and power to destroy Mjolnir, smashing the hammer into pieces. By destroying the hammer, Thor embraces a new, unsure future, undoing his fallen father's legacy for him.
An ongoing storyline in his current ongoing series has Thor questioning his true purpose as the new King of Asgard. The God of Thunder began to question everything after his hammer Mjolnir suddenly became heavier and more unpredictable. Thor ended up leaving his iconic weapon with the Avengers but soon learned it went missing, and worst of all, something or someone was using it caused death and destruction across the Ten Realms. In Broxton, Oklahoma, the former home of the Asgardians, Thor learned Mjolnir bonded with Mangog and became the God of Hammers — a beast with incredible powers.
