Official footage for Thor: Love and Thunder reveals Mjolnir's return to the MCU, and it's way more interesting than the Multiverse's Lady Thor theory. Set to be the sixth feature film installment in Phase 4, Thor: Love and Thunder is directed by Taika Waititi and will feature Chris Hemsworth reprising his role as the God of Thunder. More notably, Thor: Love and Thunder heavily focuses on Natalie Portman's reentry into the cinematic universe as Jane Foster before taking on the role of Mighty Thor.
Portman made her MCU debut in 2011's Thor as the astrophysicist who first encountered Thor when he was exiled to Earth. With the help of her team comprised of Erik Selvig and Darcy Lewis, Jane assisted Thor in his mission to return to Asgard. As the hero's love interest, Jane served as a key figure in Thor: The Dark World as well when she inadvertently became possessed by the Reality Stone. After she was taken to Asgard for help, Jane became a pivotal aspect in Thor's defeat of Malekith and the Dark Elves. Thor remained on Earth to be with Jane until she broke off the relationship to focus on her groundbreaking career.
