Natalie Portman's Mighty Thor makes but a momentary appearance in the Thor: Love & Thunder trailer, but she's already serving humble pie to any doubters. Kevin Feige certainly made us wait, but the Thor: Love & Thunder trailer has finally arrived. Overtaking Zeus, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and everything else revealed, the promo's undoubted highlight is a final sting of Natalie Portman's Jane Foster, now clad in Asgardian armor and wielding a glued-together Mjolnir as «Mighty Thor.» There's no context or explanation as to why Jane is no longer a one-dimensional source of exposition and a bland love interest. She literally just catches Mjolnir and strikes a pose… but that's enough.
Natalie Portman's return to the MCU in a superhero capacity was first announced back in July 2019, triggering a wave of excitement over this new twist on Jane Foster, but not every voice was a positive one. Like the vast majority of comic book superhero actors (Robert Pattinson excluded… maybe), Portman underwent a grueling training regime in preparation for her Mighty Thor gig.
