To say that Starfield is huge is an understatement. There are over a thousand planets and moons to explore, which means traveling to several solar systems. More of the worlds you’ll discover are barren, though they have useful resources to help you craft. A few rare planets will hold life, and some will even be hospitable enough for humans to settle permanently.
Venturing through the expanse is fun, but it’s also quite easy to get lost. You may discover a wonderful planet, get distracted, and then realise you can’t find your way back to it. Sometimes it’s just hard to remember which solar system your planet resides in.
The game does provide a map to help you orient yourself, but it is somewhat clunky and you don’t always get a good view of where you are in relation to other planets, and where you need to go to find key settlements and spaceyards.
Fortunately, there’s a great Starfield interactive map to help you out. In addition to giving a full overview of the game’s universe, you can also quickly determine where important hubs are. You can also use the site to track your progress, which can get tricky in an RPG as expansive as this.
Visit the site, and you’ll be met with a view of all of Starfield‘s solar systems. The search function allows you to quickly look up any city, staryard, moon, or star you seek, which can be difficult to do in the game’s map. It’ll also show you where tons of useful collectables are, including the snowglobes, skill magazines, temples, and companions.
You should be warned that you need to upgrade to the paid pro version if you want to access all features. However, for most players, what’s on offer for free will be more than sufficient.
