More than 37 million people in the US might be entitled to some cash from a $245 million Fortnite settlement with the Federal Trade Commission.
The government agency said it's starting to send out notifications about refunds regarding «deceptive practices» utilized by Epic Games within the game for player purchases.

You can look into getting a chunk of the $245 million settlement at www.ftc.gov/Fortnite. The deadline for a claim is January 17. The agency added that for anyone who has questions, there are two methods to reach out:
The $245 million settlement with Fortnite developer Epic was announced back in March. It's actually part of a larger $520 million settlement. This refund is happening because the FTC says «Epic Games deployed a variety of design tricks aimed at getting consumers of all ages to make unintended in-game purchases.» In addition, the commission claims Fortnite allowed kids to buy all sorts of cosmetics without parental consent.
Speaking of cosmetics, Fortnite currently has a My Hero Academia event with three new skins. In addition, the battle royale game is celebrating its sixth birthday.
Earlier this month, Epic Chief Creative Officer Donald Mustard revealed he would be retiring. It's a major shakeup for Fortnite since he oversaw the hugely popular game, including the ongoing story.
