Yes, your photo on Instagram isn't as private as you think. The Meta owned photo sharing app reportedly monitors your posts shared on Instagram Stories. Mashable has reported a spokesperson from Meta as saying that 'Close Friends posts' aren't as private as we think they are. Stephanie Otway told the portal via mail that Instagram uses "both proactive technology and reports from the community to find and remove content that contains nudity". She added that 94.3 percent of nude content were found and removed before even being reported to Instagram.
Instagram takes down all the content violating its rules — whether they’re posted on a public Instagram account, finsta, or Close Friends Story. That’s not all, posting nude or explicit content on Instagram can also lead to your account being banned. Instagram says, "We know that there are times when people might want to share nude images that are artistic or creative in nature, but for a variety of reasons, we don’t allow nudity on Instagram.” The restricted nude content includes photos, videos, and some digitally-created content that show sexual intercourse, genitals, and close-ups of fully-nude buttocks.
However, photos in the context of breastfeeding, birth giving and after-birth moments, health-related situations (for example, post-mastectomy, breast cancer awareness or gender confirmation surgery) or an act of protest are allowed. Also, nudity in photos of paintings and sculptures is OK.
