An all-new trailer for Unknown 9: Awakening, the first entry in a cross-media franchise from Reflector, has given us our first proper glimpse of protagonist Haroona, portrayed here by The Witcher’s Anya Chalotra. The game’s due out on PS5 and PS4 this summer, which brings to an end a tumultuous development cycle, following the release’s reveal over three years ago.
“You’ll step into Haroona’s shoes following a life-changing loss,” explains Reflector’s Jennifer Benjamin. “At first, revenge is all you’re after, but the Unknown 9 universe has other plans. Before you know it, in addition to seeking vengeance, you find yourself on a globetrotting journey, uncovering powerful hidden knowledge.”
The main gameplay trick showcased in this trailer is how Haroona can effectively embody her opponents, using their unique skills and abilities to turn the tide in battle. It’s a fun mechanic which should give you some freedom to explore different playstyles, like whether you’d prefer to conduct yourself stealthily or more aggressively.
The lore that’s being touted here feels a little overbearing and heavy to us, as is so often the case when cross-media strategies are teased from the start. But we like the gameplay concept, so there’s certainly promise in this one. Presumably we’ll be seeing a lot more now in the lead up to the title’s launch later this year.

Huh, never heard of it but it looks interesting.
Love how you can possess multiple people in a short time.
