HBO has officially renewed for a fourth season. While details about the new chapter remain under wraps, production seems to be scheduled for 2026. The show’s creator Mike White has already pitched fresh ideas for the next season. As fans await the February 2025 debut of Season 3, set in Thailand, speculation continues about the potential setting and cast for the Emmy-winning series’ next iteration.
HBO has officially confirmed that The White Lotus will return with Season 4, however, its production will not begin until 2026, Variety reported. No details have been confirmed about the setting or returning cast members, but last year, creator and showrunner Mike White shared multiple ideas with HBO and Max chief Casey Bloys.
The announcement precedes the February 16, 2025, premiere of Season 3, which takes the Emmy-winning series to Thailand. Natasha Rothwell reprises her Season 1 role as spa manager Belinda Lindsey. Jennifer Coolidge, who played Tanya McQuoid across the first two seasons, will not return. Along with Rothwell, viewers will get to see Leslie Bibb, Parker Posey, Michelle Monaghan, Jason Isaacs, Walton Goggins, and Blackpink member Lisa, among others.
The series’ first two seasons depicted wealthy vacationers navigating personal issues and conflicts at White Lotus resorts. The narrative in both chapters combined character-driven drama with a central mystery involving a death, tying guests’ stories to those of the hotel staff. The show has garnered significant acclaim, winning 15 Emmys, including Outstanding Limited Series for its debut season. Its second season transitioned to the drama categories following its continuation.
The White Lotus Season 4 will likely not premiere before 2027 due to its production timeline. Mike White, David Bernad, and Mark Kamine, who have led the show since its successful inception, executive produce the series.
