Searchlight Pictures has dropped trailer for its newest comedy-drama, based on Edward Kelsey Moore’s 2013 novel of the same name. The film is scheduled to make its debut on August 23, 2024, exclusively on Hulu.
“The film follows a trio of best friends known as ‘The Supremes’ who, for decades, has weathered life’s storms together through marriage and children, happiness and blues,” reads the official synopsis. “Now, as heartbreak and illness stir up the past and threaten to destroy their friendship, Odette, Barbara Jean, and Clarice see their bond put to the test as they go through their most challenging times yet.”

The official trailer highlights the lifelong friendship of three women, portrayed by Oscar nominee Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor (Lovecraft Country), Emmy winner Uzo Aduba (Orange is the New Black), and Emmy nominee Sanaa Lathan (Succession). From childhood to adulthood, they support each other through life’s ups and downs.
The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat is directed by Tina Mabry (Queen Sugar) from a screenplay she co-wrote with Cee Marcellus. The film also stars Mekhi Phifer, Julian McMahon, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Russell Hornsby, Tati Gabrielle, Tony Winters, Dijon Means, Xavier Mills, and more. It is produced by Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, and Isaac Klausner.
