Bioware have announced a full reveal of the next Dragon Age game on Tuesday June 11th 2024 but ahead of that they have revealed the title, Dragon Age The Veilguard. Well, that’s what the image shows, Bioware write it with a colon, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, so who knows which is correct.
“After Dragon Age: Inquisition launched, the studio was given an incredible opportunity to explore, test, and validate a variety of gameplay concepts as we worked to determine what the next Dragon Age could look like,” explains Gary McKay, Executive Producer, for Dragon Age, and General Manager at BioWare.
“We brought everything to the table which, yes, even included a multiplayer concept. The time we spent experimenting and iterating gradually taught us a lot. This work, and the amazing support from EA, helped us re-focus on creating an incredible single player game, with all the choices, characters and world building you’d expect from us.”
He confirms that you play as a brand new character and will be supported by “seven unique” companions. “You’ll unite this team of unforgettable heroes as you take on a terrifying new threat unleashed on the world. Naturally, the Dread Wolf still has an important part in this tale, but you and your companions – not your enemies – are the heart of this new experience,” adds Gary.
The full reveal on Tuesday June 11th at 8:00am PT (a very pleasant 16:00 BST for us here in the UK) will include over 15 minutes of gameplay from the start of the game, You will be able to watch via the Dragon Age YouTube channel.
Bioware had previously revealed that Dragon Age Dreadwolf, the old title for the game, takes place in a world where the legend of Solas has grown, with different people having different opinions of him.
