Just when you think you’ve heard it all, Microsoft comes up with a new concept for their limited edition Xbox controllers that’s completely strange yet oddly intriguing. To celebrate the upcoming release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, Microsoft is giving away several special edition controllers inspired by the iconic heroes in a half-shell. Perfectly normal, right? Guess again. These TMNT Xbox controllers are the first pizza-scented controllers to ever be released (yes, you read that correctly). Now fans can immerse themselves in the world of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles not only through gameplay but also through their sense of smell.
TMNT: Who Is the Strongest Ninja Turtle?
The pizza scent is released through a diffuser system attached to the controllers, which is also shaped like a “slice of delicious New York ‘za.” The diffuser system emits a subtle aroma that replicates the distinct smell of freshly baked pizza (mmm, I wonder if it’s pepperoni or anchovies), enhancing the gaming experience. This unique feature adds an extra layer of sensory immersion, making players feel like they are truly part of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ world.
Stinky pizza smell aside, these controllers actually look pretty cool and would probably be something most fans of the TMNT would want to own.
