A new has arrived for the PC shooter, bringing with it a brand-new game mode, as well as some other tweaks.
The latest update (version 0.4) is the most comprehensive to date for the game, according to developer Offworld Industries. The biggest addition by far is the inclusion of a Horde Mode, which will be “a brand-new survival-based combat mode that pits players against swarms of enemies that gradually increase in difficulty, creating the ultimate test of your skills and wits.”
Alongside the inclusion of Horde Mode, update 0.4 for Starship Troopers: Extermination will also include player stat tracking and player profiles. At the start, the initial version of stat tracking will just cover core stats such as total kills, revives, deaths, wins, losses, and extractions. However, Offworld Industries has said more stats will be added in the future.
Offworld Industries also spoke briefly in its release about the game’s march to Version 1.0. The studio mentioned that it was enlisting various fans of the game to help determine what features and mechanics need to be tweaked in the future, and will continue to take more player feedback into consideration.
Currently, Starship Troopers: Extermination is available in early access, and is available for $29.99, a price that will increase in the future as more content is added.
