Hunter Moore is the reviled subject of Netflix’s new true crime documentaryThe Most Hated Man on the Internet, and after watching the series, viewers may wonder where the infamous revenge-porn entrepreneur is now. Netflix stumbled upon a goldmine when the streaming service began making true crime documentaries and has not looked back in the years since. In recent years, films and shows focusing on internet crimes have become some of Netflix’s most popular and controversial titles.
As such, it is no surprise that the producers of Don’t F**k with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer and The Tinder Swindler have returned with another documentary, The Most Hated Man on the Internet. However, viewers who were sad to see that The Tinder Swinder's Simon Leviev isn't in jail might be less disappointed by the new series' story of revenge-porn tycoon Hunter Moore. Unlike Leviev, Moore has faced at least some consequences for his crimes.

In 2010, Hunter Moore set up the website Is Anyone Up? to document his lifestyle. The site was not popular for its first few years but became an overnight sensation when Moore used Is Anyone Up? to share explicit photos of a former sexual partner without their consent. Moore soon encouraged visitors to submit their own intimate images of other people, along with their personal information such as addresses, real names, and phone numbers. This phenomenon would soon become known as revenge porn, but at the time the law did not recognize Moore’s activities as a crime, and Is Anyone Up?’s user-generated content was not considered illegal.
