Build A Rocket Boy, a studio started by former Grand Theft Auto producer Leslie Benzies, teased its new game Everywhere during today's Opening Night Live show which kicked off this year's Gamescom. Apart from sharing its first-ever gameplay footage, the Scottish developer also revealed the game's release window, stating that it's set to launch at some point next year.
The self-proclaimed Grand Theft Auto competitor Everywhereis the first game from the Edinburgh-based developer. The studio underwent several funding rounds since its 2016 founding, but it wasn't until this Tuesday that it shared the first footage from its mysterious title, which it describes as a cutting-edge sandbox. It previously confirmed that the game is being developed in Unreal Engine 5 and that it's coming to both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. In terms of features, both single-player and multiplayer content are said to be part of the package. The former promises to include an «epic» narrative spanning multiple chapters, while the latter will place a large emphasis on player-generated content, ranging from activities to full-fledged worlds, as well as native support for streaming and other social media functionality.

The 75-second teaser mostly consists of gameplay clips and is so fast-paced that it manages to show a lot while still maintaining an air of mystery around the upcoming game. Regardless, the footage seems to be consistent with the "real-life Ready Player One" label that Build A Rocket Boy attached to Everywhere back in May. Among other things, the teaser depicts several third-person shootouts, some driving gameplay, and multiple biomes, including a futuristic desert city
