Mike Flanagan returns to Netflix with a new horror series in the form of The Midnight Club. Based on Christopher Pike's young adult novels of the same name, the show centers on a group of terminally ill young adults living in Rotterdam House who get together at midnight every night to tell each other scary stories. The group makes a pact that whoever dies first will reach out to the others from beyond the grave, but when one does pass, and a series of terrifying events take place around the hospice, they must determine whether it's their friend or something more sinister.
The Midnight Club cast is being led by Iman Benson, Adia, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, Aya Furukawa, Annarah Cymone, William Chris Sumpter, Sauriyan Sapkota, and Heather Langenkamp as the doctor running the hospice, with Midnight Mass stars Zach Gilford and Samantha Sloyan also appearing in undisclosed recurring roles. The Haunting of Hill House creator Mike Flanagan serves as creator and showrunner of the Netflix series, with the first two episodes helmed by Flanagan, while the rest of the team includes Axelle Carolyn, Emmanuel Osei-Kuffour, Michael Fimognari, Morgan Beggs, and Viet Nguyen. Production onThe Midnight Club ran from March to September of last year, and audiences are getting their first taste of what's to come.
